The history of Balenciaga begins when its founder, Cristóbal Balenciaga, opened a haute couture house in San Sebastian, Spain.
Later, in the 1930s, due to the effects of the Spanish Civil War, the company moved its head office to Paris and became established as a French brand. He revolutionized women's clothing, creating loose silhouettes and voluminous designs.
